Tescos legal adviceYou may have read earlier this week in the Times newspaper about deregulation of the legal sector; and the spin they placed on it was the option that you may have to buy your legal services at Tescos!Truely if I wanted to buy a bunch of bananas the last place i would probably look is my local legal practice, but maybe it would be good to have the choice? Plans are currently being drawn up to deregulate the UK legal market and potentially allow supermarkets such as Tesco and Asda to add legal advice to their rapidly growing portfolio of servicebased products including banking and insurance. Understandably many High Street solicitors are outraged at the prospect of supermarkets stealing their work. Hey who wouldn't be? But is this not just another form of competition? I have used the insurance that the supermarkets provide, and to put it bluntly the service is terrible. The supermarket beyamoths are there to make the most amount of money possible, so they will tend to scrimp on the actual service that you are going to get. I think I'm going to stick to my solicitor for legal advice, thanks, and this lot for business advice. |
